With Juan Mata now seemingly on his way to MAnchester United and Kevin de Bruyne having already left to Wolfsburg, Chelsea have lost a lot of creativity this transfer window. However, they are hardly short of it, with the likes of Eden Hazard, Oscar and Willian on the books. To replace what they have lost though, I would target this chap – Ivan Rakitic.
The Sevilla midfielder is a central player who likes to expose the pockets of spaces between enemy lines and can carve open opportunities at will with his inventive style of play.
His touch is superb, his vision is second to none and he also scores goals, which ticks all the right boxes where Chelsea are concerned.
He has scored 11 goals in his 25 games this season and has had plenty of chances to add to that, but he is always looking to play in his team-mates.
He has created a vast amount of chances this season and has claimed 12 assists, which is a huge amount.
While he would offer a different choice for Mourinho in the middle, he would also replace some of the inventiveness that has been lost with he aforementioned players above.
