Manchester United have had a season to forget so far, but there is still time for them to get things back on track. Here are three players who I would look to sign if I was David Moyes today.
1) Ivan Rakitic
Despite Juan Mata joining the club, I still feel United need an all-round central midfielder to keep everything in order, and for me that man is Rakitic of Sevilla. The Croatia international has been superb this season, scoring 12 goals and claiming 12 assists in his 26 games.
For me, the 25-year-old is the perfect player to come in and get United’s season back on track.
2) Eliaquim Mangala
With Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic’s future looking unclear – both centre-halves run out of contract in the summer – I would suggest getting in a younger player to take their place.
I would slot Phil Jones in as the first choice centre-back with Jonny Evans in reserve, but this man would surely be number one should he come in.
The Porto defender could very well be the future of the club should he sign as he is still only 22.
3) Luke Shaw
Evra is another player whose deal is up in the summer, but whether or not he leaves or not I would be moving for Southampton’s Luke Shaw.
He is a player who loves to contribute going forward but is equally impressive when on the back foot, and I believe he could prove a real difference.
