Manchester United have a big, big couple of months ahead of them. If David Moyes doesn’t manage to break into the top four and clinch Champions League football then there will be plenty of frustrated natives up at Old Trafford and plenty more continuing to pick their performances apart. For me they had the chance to ensure of a top four finish last month in the transfer window, and although they signed Juan Mata, I think Ivan Rakitic should have been the number one target.
There is good news though, as Sky Sports say that he is in no hurry to sign a new deal at the La Liga club. It’s brilliant news in fact, as it may suggest that a move could be on. I may be looking into it a little too much, but I think Moyes should be going all out to get him into the club and build his side around him.
This season so far the Croatian has played 20 league games and scored 10 goals, but it’s his creativity that has seen his name plastered all over the papers. Brina box-to-box player he relies on his technique and he’s got a lot of it – he has created 52 chances in the league so far and claimed 13 assists in all competitions.
He really would be a player to glue everything together at United, and I think he should be the club’s number one choice this summer.
