Chelsea are 3-1 against Paris Saint Germain for this evening’s tie in the Champions League, but all is not lost. I for one believe that Chelsea will win, and here are three reasons for that outlook.
1) Home form
Jose Mourinho is a manager who turns his club’s stadium into a fortress. He did it with Porto, he did it with Inter and Real, but his record at Stamford Bridge with Chelsea is something that still amazes people. The Portuguese boss is still unbeaten at the Bridge from his two spells at the club – a run spanning 76 games.
2) Eden Hazard
The little Belgian has been superb this season. He has scored 14 Premier League goals, two Champions League goals and has claimed seven assists in all competitions. For me he will be the match winner tonight and send Chelsea through to the next round.
He has averaged 2.4 key passes per game so far, two shots per game and 5.1 completed dribbles per Champions League game.
3) No Zlatan
The Swede was injured in the first leg of the tie and will miss tonight’s action. It’s a huge boost for the Blues – we all know how impressive he is when on the pitch.
For me, these three reasons are why Chelsea will win the game.
