Manchester United Agree £35m Deal For Real Madrid Target – Player Report

Manchester United have had a dismal season and there will be a huge amount of expectation next season as David Moyes looks to restore faith around Old Trafford. The former Everton man has struggled to settle into the club since his move from Everton in the summer, but it looks as though he will be backed financially to rebuild the squad. TalkSPORT report that United have agreed a £35 million deal for William Cavalho, who will sign on a five-year deal. But what can he offer United?

The 22-year-old is currently on the books of Sporting Lisbon and is a holding midfielder. He is an athletic player who loves to get his body between his opponent and the ball before expressing himself through his passing.

He is a player who demands the ball off his centre-backs so he can push up the field and spark attacks, but his main strengths lie in his defensive attributes.

His reading of the game is exceptional for a young player and he has notably quick feet for a big man, which allows him to shuttle across the pitch and beat players to the ball.

I, for one, am excited to see him play and am glad that the reports suggest it is a done deal.

He has previously been linked with Real Madrid.
