According to the Daily Mail, Manchester United, and in particular interim manager Ryan Giggs, will be boosted by the return of last season’s leading Premier League marksman Robin van Persie for the remaining matches of the season.
Giggs’s reign got off to the perfect start on Saturday with a vibrant attacking display as United defeated Norwich 4-0.
United have endured a miserable season, but the return of their talisman and the current euphoria being experienced at Old Trafford with Giggs in the hot seat means that there is light at the end of the tunnel.
Personally I think United need to find a way of integrating van Persie, Wayne Rooney and Juan Mata effectively as an attacking trio.
It will be interesting to see how Giggs approaches United’s next game which sees them entertain an in-form Sunderland side. Expectations will have risen and a new wave of optimism has surrounded Old Trafford.
Giggs has already made one brave move in leaving Mata out of the starting lineup on Saturday. Van Persie will provide Giggs with further options in attack and will offer a realistic scenario should he get the top job permanently.
Giggs now faces a dilemma. Should he start the Dutchman against the Black Cats or is a place on the bench more than suffice?
