Arsenal Star Linked With Move To Madrid – Why Gunners MUST Keep Hold

The tendency of big teams, with a lot of money, is to boast that advantage by going after all the top talent in the world. This frightens the smaller sides who develop a young boy into a grown man only to be bought by the bigger club. Like a tiger stalking its prey for hours on end, only for it to be snatched away from it by the alpha male. Or something like that. Basically, big clubs can be mean.
Well it’s Real Madrid’s turn to be the mean ones as they are targeting one of Arsenal’s best players from the past couple of seasons, Laurent Koscielny. The Frenchman is one-half of the duo that has effectively made the Emirates a fortress this season. IBTimes have reported that the Spanish giants are making moves to sign the Arsenal centre back to provide a replacement for Pepe who is rumoured to be leaving Los Blancos.

However, Arsenal simply can’t let that happen because of Kosicelny’s importance to the squad. Without him, I doubt the Gunners would’ve got Champions League qualification last season or even this season to boot.
He’s formed an incredible partnership with Per Mertesacker and Arsenal now have a centre back pairing to be proud of after repeated failures after the Sol Campbell and Kolo Toure duo separated.
Arsenal simply can’t throw away this new found backbone to the team that has actually won them many games this season. I’m not saying Koscielny can’t be replaced but, it will be hard. He’s a unique a player.
He has pace which is not common in centre halves. He uses this to his advantage as he often sticks close to the striker, goes for the interception and if he doesn’t get there then he has the recovery pace to make amends for his error.
In short, he’s a fantastic player and Arsenal must not let him go because of what he’s created with Mertesacker.
