Mikel Arteta is a player who does not stand out when playing in the Arsenal first team. Although he was deployed as an attacking outlet when on the books of Everton a few years ago, he has dropped into a holding spot alongside Mathieu Flamini at Arsenal and he goes about his job without making a fuss. But he could be on his way out of the Emirates this summer according to reports.
I think he should be offloaded.
The Spaniard will soon be 33 and is out of contract next season, so the first reason why is to get a chunk of money for him while they can.
He is not the quickest player and is continuously caught out of position when Arsenal are on the back foot. To me it seems as though he’s a player playing out of position and I think it should be Flamini and Wilshere in the deeper spots.
Aaron Ramsey can also play there, but I would also be looking to sign a big, powerful midfielder to add some bite into the side.
Arsenal fans, do you agree with my reasoning?
