Manchester United Favourites To Sign Cristiano Ronaldo This Summer – Here’s Why He Should Forget About Old Trafford Move

One of Sir Alex Ferguson’s best pieces of transfer business was picking up Cristiano Ronaldo for what now looks like a pittance, to sell him for huge money to Real Madrid in a deal which – at the time – saw him become the world’s most expensive player. Now, after scoring 252 goals in 246 and winning five major trophies for the La Liga giants, Sky Bet have placed Manchester United as favourites to sign the Portugal international by the 2nd of September.

The bookmakers have priced him at 7/1, with Manchester City close behind at 10/1, but here is why he should stay in the Spanish capital.

For a start, Manchester United are not the club that he left back in 2009. Last season the Red Devils fell apart under new manager David Moyes and will not be competing in Europe next season.

With Louis van Gaal coming into the club it would also see Ronaldo go up against a major personality in the Dutch manager and I am not sure that would go down too well.

Plus he is carving his name into the Madrid record books – just look at his goals to game ratio. Why would he leave the Champions of Europe for a team not even in the competition?
