With Chelsea supposedly looking for a new striker to strengthen Jose Mourinho’s frontline, I am ready to put this player’s name into the frame. Fernando Llorente may be the cheap option for the Blues but there is no doubt in my mind that he could be a hit in west London.
He played 34 games in the Italian topflight in the season just passed and he scored 16 goals, which is pretty good going considering the Juventus attack is primarily built around Carlos Tevez.
He is not a player that will expose gaps but he’s a natural finisher and is good in the air, but most importantly would provide that physical presence that they need.
In order to make room for the Spain international I would look to offload compatriot Fernando Torres and former Newcastle forward Demba Ba. Both players have flattered to deceived and I think that Llorente, Samuel Eto’o and perhaps a young forward or Andre Schurrle as back up would be enough.
What do you reckon, Blues?
