There has been a lot of talk about Arsenal’s summer transfer business already, so here are three former players who Gunners could see back at the Emirates next season.
1) Cesc Fabreagas – Barcelona
There has been plenty of speculation over the last few weeks as to where the Spain international will end up. Having been a key figure for Barcelona over the past few years he looks to be a casualty of the potential summer overhaul which could see him return to the Emirates.
Arsenal are said to have first refusal.
2) Carlos Vela – Real Sociedad
Where Fabregas flourished at Arsenal, Vela flopped quite hard. Now, though, after a strong season at his La Liga side, there is talk about him returning to north London to reinforce his reputation.
The Mexican played 37 topflight games last season and scored 16 goals, and with the Gunners’ lack of options up front it could be a shrewd move.
3) Alex Song – Barcelona
Although I haven’t seen him linked with a move, Song is out of favour at Camp Nou and I think he could do a job in the middle of the current Arsenal side.
He made just 12 starts last season for the Catalan club.
