Arsenal have been chasing Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata for a while now, and recent reports are suggesting that the Spaniard is free to leave the Santiago Bernabeu. It’s a massive boost for the Gunners, who are in desperate need for some extra fire power. Here is what Arsene Wenger will be signing should he strike a deal with the Spanish giants.
Like Giroud, he is a real presence in the air and likes to use his powerful frame to make space for himself. He managed eight goals last season in just three starts and 20 substitute appearances in La Liga.
His touch needs work but he is still only 21, so that will come with first team experience. His movement is impressive for a big man but his link up play leaves a lot to be desired – he completed just 69% of his passes last season.
He has a decent strike on him though, and averaged 1.7 shots on target per game last time out. He can play outside the box, turning opponents and having a pop at goal, but he is at his best when he is deep inside the box and connecting with crosses.
With the right player beside him I think he would be a huge success at the Emirates.
