Danny Welbeck has come under a lot of criticism over the last few seasons at Old Trafford, and rumours about him supposedly picking up an injury before the World Cup group game with Italy has sparked mixed feelings amongst fans.
He has never been the most prolific of forwards, but that is largely down to the fact he has been deployed on the wing at Old Trafford. He has exceptional pace and is willing to run at players, but his composure in front of goals leaves a lot to be desired.
Welbeck is a team player though and is always working tirelessly down the flank to make life hard for his opposite number, and I think fans need to give him a break.
He isn’t a player that will lead your line and score huge amounts of goals, but if you use him correctly then he is a very handy player.
I have chosen a range of reactions from Twitter to show you how split the opinions are on the player.

Danny Welbeck is not trending, because he's injured, Danny Welbeck is trending because of #ENG fans celebrating that he's injured…damn.
