With Netherlands boss Louis van Gaal becoming the new Manchester United manager next season, here are three players in his Holland side competing at the World Cup that I think he should be looking to take to Old Trafford.
1) Arjen Robben
The Bayern Munich winger has shown on numerous occasions how well he works with Robin van Persie and I think if a deal is arranged then it would go some way to transforming the Old Trafford side back into title contenders.
The Mirror are just one of many papers reporting Louis van Gaal’s interest in him, and although we are amidst the rumour season, I would not be surprised to see him sporting the United strip next term.
2) Daley Blind
United’s left-back berth isn’t the strongest and I think Blind would strengthen in considerably. The 24-year-old is a big, strong full-back but is also notably quick across the floor and he was one of the star players in the Dutch side that picked Spain apart last week.
The Ajax defender scored one and got an assist during the tie.
3) Bruno Martins Indi
With Nemanja Vidic and Rio Ferdinand leaving the club, United need a young centre-back to come and take their place. In my opinion, Indi could be that man.
The Feyenoord centre-half is an exceptionally strong defender and can read the game brilliantly – he made three tackles, two interceptions and two clearances against Spain last week.
