It is all quiet on the Chelsea front in terms of transfer rumours. There is the odd article here and there, but nothing like it was when Cesc Fabregas joined or when rumours of Diego Costa picked up. They have been linked with Paul Pogba in recent days, but that turned out to be speculative journalism after the Football Manager saga the player got himself involved in. When discussing transfers away from the club, things have been very quiet. There is really just Romelu Lukaku occupying those reports.
However, a new rumour has been discovered today, and it involves a player that hasn’t been in the picture at Chelsea much since his arrival. Victor Moses could well be on his way out of Stamford Bridge this summer, with plenty of clubs in the frame to sign him. West Brom, Everton, Swansea, Newcastle and Southampton are all interested in the Nigeria international, according to the Express. What is uncertain is whether he will be sold or loaned out as Jose Mourinho has not yet decided on his future.
In my opinion, Moses should never have been bought by Chelsea. He had a very good season at Wigan before he sealed his move away, but more than a season of quality football was needed from him. Now Chelsea have got him, they don’t want him anymore. It is unfair to say the least, so I think the Blues owe it to Moses to sell him on so he can play regular football elsewhere. Loaning him out once again would not really benefit either the player or the club.
Moses did little to prove his worth on loan at Liverpool last season, although he wasn’t given much of a chance due to the form of Daniel Sturridge and Philippe Coutinho. For me, the forward hasn’t proved himself worthy to be part of Chelsea’s squad and that is unfortunate because he definitely has the ingredients to. Unfortunately, the 23-year-old just hasn’t been able to apply himself and may now have to leave Stamford Bridge to resurrect his career.
