Legends are born everywhere and they can be classified as legends in different ways. A player may be considered a legend for a crucial goal they score or for commiting to the club for a long time. Maybe it is because they’ve always put in 100%. For whatever reason, they go down amongst the fans as legends of the club and they will always be respected. If there is any chance that a legend could return to the club then the fans will always welcome them back.
Didier Drogba will always be considered a legend for Chelsea because he was at the forefront in their step towards glory back when Roman Abramovich took over the club. His goals and performances were admired by the neutrals as well, unless his goals happened to go against you. He will forever be remembered for his goal against Bayern Munich in the 2012 Champions League final which ensured that Chelsea were not to be beaten. The Blues eventually went on to win the final as Drogba netted the decisive penalty in a shootout, gaining them a trophy which the club had never won in their history.
The Daily Mail are reporting that the Ivorian could be heading back to Chelsea this summer and be used as a back-up in attack, but also given a coaching role. This would be a very good move for the club as Jose Mourinho knows the importance of having experienced and influential players in the squad. You only have to look as far as Petr Cech, John Terry and Frank Lampard. It will help the younger players and also players who are just generally struggling as they can give them the support they need.
With Chelsea set to bring in a bunch of new players, they will need to adapt. Having Drogba back could be great for Diego Costa, who the Blues need to have firing on all cylinders as soon as possible.
