Arsenal not in a position to make more signings of magnitude of Mesut Ozil or Alexis Sanchez but two players with transfer fees of around £10m certainly deemed feasible, reports Telegraph’s .

The Gunners are short in numbers in almost every department despite spending a record amount of money in the summer. Wenger managed to rope in Alexis Sanchez from Barcelona, but that remained the only upgrade to the squad as all of the other signings he made were either to replace the outgoing players or to be used as a squad player including the versatile Calum Chambers.

Arsenal are currently nursing as many as seven first team player on the injury table. The report from Telegraph claims that Wenger will have a transfer budget of around £20 million to spend this January. Although AST estimates the amount to be left for January should be in the region of £40 million.

‘I agree we could have bought one more player – we didn’t find him,’ Wenger said, speaking at the club’s AGM. We will try to rectify that in December and January because we are a bit short.’

Arsene Wenger regained some lost trust amongst the Arsenal faithful as they broke the deadlock and picked up a silverware this May. However, a poor summer window and a mediocre start to the season meant that the Gunners boss was on the receiving end of some heavy criticism from the fans.

‘We have a good core of young British players, who feel the value of our club. Slowly the modern game has lost that.

‘So we need you support again. I encourage you to be behind us. You are magnificent. And I’m sure we will come out this season more united and stronger.’

There has been several reports in the past few days about the possibility of re-igniting the interest to sign Real Madrid midfielder Sami Khedira and Borussia Dortmund captain Mats Hummels, but we will have to wait and see if the reports indeed turn out to be true.
