ASTONISHING: Manchester United set to sign Liverpool target

Manchester United manager Louis Van Gaal has offered former Barcelona goalkeeper and current free agent Vicor Valdes a chance to train at Old Trafford. United’s official website had a statement issues today which reads Louis van Gaal has offered the 32-year-old former Barcelona goalkeeper Victor Valdes a chance to complete his rehabilitation from a knee injury and to work his way back to fitness with the club. Valdes, a free agent, will have his recovery supervised by the United medical staff before training with the first team, as he bids to regain full fitness.

The 32 year old Spaniard suffered a horrific injury early this year and since then has been out of action. He also missed the World Cup in Brazil but it is now believed that he is gearing up for action. Earlier Brendan Rodgers had expressed an interest to sign Valdes, but those reports of training at Liverpool’s base in Melwood has died down ever since. United are thus keen to secure his signing despite having Lindegaard as a good back up to first choice David De Gea.

The 20 times EPL champions have allowed the former Barcelona star to train but have not added him to the squad. It remains to be seen whether Van Gaal will sign Valdes or will he allow the shot stopper to just regain fitness and help him find a new club.
