Porto striker Jackson Martinez has revealed that he will consider leaving the club at the end of the season if there are good offers. The Colombian’s current contract expires in 2017, yet he is being linked with a move as Liverpool and Arsenal are interested in him.

The 28-year old has done really well in Portugal after moving to Porto from Jaguares in 2012 for a fee of €8.8m. He was signed to replace his  countryman Radamel Falcao back then. Martinez revealed recently, “My agent is in charge of the negotiations. I prefer to stay out of it.

“At the end of the season I hope to receive some interesting proposals.”

He has been in irresistible form this season in all competitions after scoring 12 goals in 16 appearances. The bulk of the scoring has been done by him for his team as he has seven goals to his name in the Portuguese league. The next highest scorer has two goals.

Martinez is the second highest goal getter in his domestic league and has single-handedly helped his team to third place this season, who are three points behind Benfica.

Despite being a striker, Martinez can be deployed as winger, which is another key dimension in his game. Both Arsenal and Liverpool are in need of a proven goalscorer, especially the latter. Mario Balotelli’s barren run in front of goal and Daniel Sturridge’s bad injury record could force Rodgers’ hand come January as he will look to strengthen in order to turn around Liverpool’s faltering league campaign so far.

Arsenal have good attacking options up front, but they haven’t had the best of luck in terms of injuries this season. Martinez still has more than two years remaining in his contract, which could mean that he will cost somewhere around €25m to €30m.
