Well, the Daily express never amazes to shock us with their transfer rumours. If one of their reports from today is to be even believed, then Arsenal are preparing a shock £7m offer to Chelsea for out of favour goalkeeper Petr Cech. It is believed that the Gunners are keen on the Czech International after having lost summer signing David Ospina due to injury.
Ever since the arrival of Thibaut Courtois in the summer, Cech has been relegated to the bench. It is believed that the Chelsea legend still wants to get enough game time on the pitch but that is hard to come by as Courtois has established himself as the Chelsea number one. Cech has also publicly expressed his desire to head towards the exit from Stamford Bridge should Mourinho fail to give him more opportunities between the sticks.
Mourinho had also said that he wont stand in the 32-year-old’s way if he decides to leave Chelsea as a mark of respect following his seven-and-a-half years of dedicated service in west London. However, does it mean that will he allow the player to make a move to fierce rivals Arsenal? Wojciech Szczesny is definitely error prone and Cech’s arrival at the Emirates will surely mean that he will dispossess the Pole as the number one.
The report also mentions that Chelsea already have a ready-made replacement for Cech as Australian shot-stopper Mark Schwarzer is ready to step up while Jamal Blackman has also impressed for the development squad in recent seasons.
