3. Petr Cech:
Currently a bench warmer at Chelsea, after Thibaut Courtois, who has taken to life at Chelsea like a duck takes to water, has usurped Cech’s guaranteed starting place this season. Cech is unhappy at having to sacrifice his place after spending seven years being Chelsea’s undisputed No.1, and has expressed his desire to leave, without handing in a transfer request. Chelsea would be more willing to let him go out on loan, rather than lose him cheaply. Clubs such as Arsenal and Liverpool would want an experienced goalkeeper between the posts, as they have been shipping loose goals off late, and Cech is the right man for the job.
In a loan situation, the club and the player both benefit, as the club get to test the player, rather than take the gamble and pay the price; while the player gets to test himself in a new competitive environment and ensure that he is making the move that will be right for his career.
