According to Express, Paris Saint-Germain striker Edinson Cavani is now ready to consider a transfer move to Arsenal (next Summer).
Last week, many online reports claimed that Manchester United are planning to replace Falcao with Edinson Cavani after this season. So, if Cavani opts to sign for Arsenal instead, it will be a big transfer blow for the Red Devils.
Even though Arsenal already have Olivier Giroud and Danny Welbeck in the squad, the North London club still need a world class striker to compete with the likes of Chelsea and Manchester City for major domestic honors. Chelsea have Diego Costa, City have Sergio Aguero and United have Rooney, Falcao and RVP. So, signing this £50m man from PSG could make Arsenal a force to reckon-with in England and enable them to stand toe-to-toe with other title contenders.
The report suggest that Cavani is unhappy with life at the Paris club and may prefer Summer exit as PSG will not be ready to lose their star striker in the middle of the season. The report also highlights that the prospect of living in London could be a major factor which will decide Cavani’s future destination.
If Arsenal manage to sign a much needed defensive midfielder and also a back-up defender in January, also if the Gunners can manage UCL qualification, signing a top striker like Cavani would complete the squad and make them a strong title contenders for next season.
