Good News For Chelsea As Club Is Set Extend Star Man’s Contract

Mourinho hints Chelsea exit?

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho is set to earn a new contract  in January after a brilliant start to the season which has seen his side top the league. Chelsea are unbeaten so far and have picked up 33 points in 13 games. Mourinho is contracted with the club until 2017 after signing a four-year deal last season and was being linked with a possible move to Barcelona should Luis Enrique be sacked at the end of the current season.

However, Chelsea will offer him a new contract come January that will all but end other clubs’ interest in the Portuguese. In addition, he himself stated that he wants to stay at the club, “I’m not here thinking about my next move because I don’t want to have a next move.

“I will have a next move if and when Chelsea decides it’s time for that. I’m here to stay. I belong to Chelsea, Chelsea belong to me.”

Mourinho’s team are in a very good position at the moment as they look like the real deal in the Premier League. He is set to win his first trophy in two years as he failed to win a trophy in his last season at Real Madrid and his first season in charge of Chelsea; a black mark in his impressive managerial CV.

The former Barcelona translator has a bittersweet connection with his old club as he managed their arch rivals Real Madrid for three seasons and prevented Barcelona from achieving three League titles in a row. He also stopped them from retaining their Champions League crown while he was at Inter Milan as his side beat them in the quarterfinals and went on to lift the trophy in 2009.

The 50-year old was close to winning a the league last season, but his attack line let him down. Since then, he has gone on and spent money intelligently as the signings of Cesc Fabregas and Diego Costa have been key in his side’s brilliant form this season.
