Manchester United could get a boost for their FA Cup third round clash against Yeovil. Angel Di Maria has resumed training following his pelvic injury and could return just in time for that clash. Di Maria who was in top form and produced some high quality performances was sidelined after picking up a knock. The £59.7m winger who moved to Old Trafford from Real Madrid in the summer has been the catalyst for re-igniting United’s diminished flare again. With the return of the Argentine international, coach Louis van Gaal would have more attacking options in midfield and be more aggressive in the FA Cup tie as well as the upcoming games in other competitions too. United travel to Yeovil on Sunday.

There is some bad news as well with regards to other injuries updates. Ashley Young who had picked up a hamstring injury against Stoke on new year’s day is set to miss action for at least two weeks. This could be a blow to Louis van Gaal’s plans, as he already has had a long list of injured players this season. Amongst the other players who are out of action, key players like Marcos Rojo, Daley Blind and Marouane Fellaini are still really doubtful to make it to the tie.

Rojo is suffering a thigh injury while Blind has a knee problem which has kept him out and Fellaini is suffering from an illness. With the performances slowly improving with every passing game, the Dutch manager would be keen on getting all his key players to full fitness if he hopes to challenge for any major trophies this season.

Manchester United provisional squad : De Gea, Lindegaard, Amos, Vermijl, Blackett, Shaw, Thorpe, Smalling, Evans, Jones, McNair, Rafael, Pereira, Fletcher, Herrera, Valencia, Lingard, Anderson, Carrick, Januzaj, Di Maria, Mata, Falcao, Rooney, Van Persie, Wilson, W Keane.
