According to reports in Daily Star, Arsenal’s man of the moment Alexis Sanchez has told manager Arsene Wenger that he does not want a break till the end of the season and asked Wenger to forget about giving some rest to the Chilean International. Sanchez has been in a destructive mood ever since his move from Barcelona to Emirates Stadium took place and is in no mood to calm down.
Sanchez, who was bought for £35 million has been Arsenal’s stand out player with 18 goals from 30 appearances and is single-handedly carrying the team on his shoulders since his arrival. Ahead of the clash against defending Champions Manchester City, Sanchez has revealed that he will be upset if he is left out for any game and wants to play as much as possible. He was supposed to be given a rest when the North Londoners travel to Brighton for the FA cup fourth-round clash.
It would be a treat to watch Sanchez playing alongside the likes of Mesut Ozil and Theo Walcott, who are returning from injury. It was also confirmed that Colombian goal keeper David Ospinia will be the custodian at the Etihad Stadium this weekend. He replaced Wojciech Szczesny, who was dropped following some controversies that had the Polish goalie caught smoking in the showers following a defeat at Southampton on the New Year ’s Day.
Ospinia looked solid during the FA Cup third round clash against Hull City and also in the league game against Stoke City. However, there are few bad news for the Gunners as their club captain Mikel Arteta and defender Mathieu Debuchy has been ruled out for 3 months due to their respective injuries.
Arteta had removed a piece of bone from his left ankle that has been causing him discomfort in the recent past whereas Debuchy, who returned after a three month lay-off is out due to a dislocated shoulder. English striker Danny Welbeck returns to training following his thigh and hip injury but won’t travel to Manchester this weekend.
