Liverpool are set to complete a deal for a superstar striker as reports would suggest. The Reds have been keen on adding some high quality additions to improve their league position and manager Brendan Rodgers wanted some experienced players. After weeks of scouting talent across the continent, the Anfield side are finally on the verge of signing Paris Saint-Germain’s Argentine winger Ezequiel Lavezzi. The French champions are ready to accept a deal for the World Cup finalist. Also as recent news suggest, PSG wants to sign 26 year old Argentine Nicolas Gaitan as his replacement.
Lavezzi, who made the move to France in 2012, was previously playing for Italian side Napoli. Since his move to the French capital, the Argentine has made a total of 73 appearances for the club, scoring just 14 goals at the top level. The 29 year old has been considering a move away from France recently and is looking for a new challenge, which he hopes to find in England.
Also, with his immense experience and talent, the Argentine star will fit well into the Liverpool side and may help them to push forward in the league table. The Reds were in hot pursuit for Lavezzi, since his times at Italian club Napoli, but lost out on the opportunity to secure a deal at that point to PSG. Now, a new opportunity has come knocking at their door-step with the player himself keen on making a move and a bargain £8m deal is on the cards.
