Partizan Belgrade starlet Danilo Pantic has revealed that he is yet to agree a move to the Premier League leaders Chelsea. Talksport.com had reported few days back that Pantic, who is hailed as the future star of Serbian football has almost completed a deal to Stamford Bridge. The 18-year-old midfielder has attracted some offers from top European sides as Italian Champions Juventus scouted him, just like some Spanish sides.
According to those reports, Jose Mourinho’s side were supposed to complete the £1m deal for the 18-year-old this week but the Serbian midfielder has spoken out that nothing has been agreed between two parties. He told his club’s website that he was the talk of the town for the past few days but he himself didn’t knew anything about the deal with Chelsea.
He also revealed that the Blues showed interest in him but there was no deal that took place between the two parties. He also insisted that he showed interest to play for the Blues but he is looking forward to complete the five months remaining on his contract.
“I have been the talk of the town lately, but I know I didn’t sign anything with Chelsea,” Pantic told Partizan Belgrade’s site.
“They showed interest, but no concrete deal was signed. I am still a Partizan player and I still have five more months left on my contract.”
It was also rumoured that once the deal is completed, Pantic will be loaned out to Dutch side Vitesse Arnhem till the end of the season.
Chelsea are looking to strengthen their squad while going towards the important phase of the season. It was already reported that Chelsea are in pole position to sign Colombian star Juan Cuadrado before the end of the season. Jose Mourinho also confirmed that Germany’s Andre Schurrle is staying at the Bridge this season.
Going into February, they are leading Manchester City by five points in the EPL, already qualified for the UEFA Champions League Round of 16 and have Liverpool in the Semi-Finals of the Capital One Cup second leg this mid-week.
