Arsenal legend and superstar striker Thierry Henry has reportedly claimed that he feels that Chelsea’s latest signing Juan Cuadrado would be a special player for the Blues. The 26 year old Colombian World Cup sensation, is on the verge of finalizing his £23.8m move to Stamford Bridge. He recently flew into London for a medical examination after parting with Italian side Fiorentina and his team-mates and fans at the club.
In an interview, Henry, who is a big fan of Columbian said,
“Cuadrado is a special player. He’s a proper winger.
“You don’t see it anymore, but he gets down the lines and puts in crosses for the striker.
“I’m guessing they’re bringing him to Chelsea to put him in the first team. He can break in, he’s a special talent.”
After completing the formalities at his former club in Italy, an emotional message on social media was posted by Cuadrado this morning in Italian, which read,
“Florence will always be in my heart.
“The people are extraordinary. The fans full of passion.
“The Viola launched my career and gave me the opportunity to grow also thanks to a great club and exceptional team-mates.
“Now a new journey awaits me. New emotions. New objective. But always with Florence in my heart. Thank you to everyone! Juan.”
The superstar is set to join a Chelsea side which sits at top of the Premier League table at the moment, still five points clear of Manchester City who shared the points on Saturday at Stamford Bridge in a 1-1 draw. The move also confirms that Andre Schurrle and Mohamed Salah may leave the club soon, with the German linked with a move back to the Bundesliga. The World Cup winner has been linked for a long time with German outfit Wolfsburg and the money from the deal, would be used to fund the Columbian winger’s move to the Premier League, as suggested by reports.
