20 time Premier League Champions Manchester United have already set sights on their first signing for their summer as the Louis Van Gaal managed outfit has targeted to sign PSV Eidhoven’s Dutch International Memphis Depay.
Van Gaal and Depay worked together with the Dutch winger when he managed Netherlands in the 2014 FIFA World Cup, where he impressed everyone with his pace and trickery. Now the Dutchman, who overtook United’s reins earlier this season is adamant on signing the 20-year-old winger and is plotting a £10m bid to sign him in the summer transfer window. Depay has has also attracted many leading European clubs like Liverpool, Ajax, AC Milan and Tottenham.
According to Daily Star, sources close to the player say his representatives are confident a deal with United will be completed as Van Gaal prepares to rebuild his squad once again to set up a shot at the title next season.
Depay has been often termed as the Dutch version of Cristiano Ronaldo and he has scored nearly 16 goals in 22 games playing on the wings for PSV this season, the same position where Ronaldo plays for his team.
Apart from Depay, Van Gaal will also look to strengthen his defence as the likes of Borussia Dortmund’s German International Mats Hummels and Real Madrid’s French winger Raphael Varane is in the huge list of transfer targets of Manchester United.
