Chelsea have been going great in the Premier League with a seven point lead over Manchester City, at the top of the table. Jose Mourinho has his sights set on glory and the team has responded well to their manager’s plans, till now. With everything looking perfect, it would be hard to imagine someone amongst The Blues, wanting to leave the Stamford Bridge. However, Chelsea left-back Filipe Luis has told former Atletico Mardid team-mate Miranda, that he wants to return to the La Liga champions, according to Spanish newspaper AS.
The 29 year old Chelsea left-back, appears to have dismissed any such claims, hours after they were actually published. Luis uploaded a picture of himself on Instagram, training at Chelsea with three blue love hearts, which could be clearly seen in the post. Jose Mourinho, who splashed out £15.8m to bring Luis to Stamford Bridge this summer, has used him very miserly. The Brazilian has started just five Premier League games this season as the Blues boss prefers Spaniard Cesar Azpilicueta over him.
AS further had made claims that Filipe Luis had realized how happy he was in Madrid, where he spent a period of four years, since his move from Deportivo La Coruna in 2010. Reports suggested that he confessed to his Brazilian compatriot Miranda that he wanted to come back to the club which he helped win the La Liga title, last season. Atletico reportedly had offered a big money deal, to keep hold of him before he finally left to join Chelsea. Now, AS suggest that he once again hopes they will make another big move to bring him back to Spain. Despite the fact that Luis has struggled to get first team action in the Premier league, he has been Mourinho’s first choice in cup competitions, as Chelsea get set to play in the Capital One Cup final soon.
