Liverpool are now holding talks to sign Miralem Pjanic from Italian side Roma, who are ready to sell the midfielder for a price of £37million, in the summer. Pjanic, is seen by the Reds as an ideal replacement for former England skipper Steven Gerrard, who will leave at the end of the season and the former Lyon man is considered one of the finest pass-masters in European football, at present.
The Anfield side are planning to make a £25million at the end of the season, and while the amount is short of what Roma expect, the Mirror says that Roma will not reduce their asking price. If Liverpool do manage to complete the move, the 24 year old would be Liverpool’s most expensive player ever. He would also become the highest paid ever, with a wage of £160,000-a-week, which is being talked about, at the moment.
