Manchester United have added yet another talented player to their squad, according to Belgian newspaper Nieuwsblad. Journalist Kristof Terreur has Tweeted and confirmed that 16-year-old Indy Boonen has signed on the dotted line with The Red Devils. Boonen is a left footed number 10 and has been training at United’s training ground Carrington for the past few weeks now. The title reads as
“Another young Belgian at Manchester United”
Reports say that Boonen is following the footsteps of Adnan Januzaj and United beat the likes of Arsenal, Manchester City, Feyenoord and Wolfsburg to sign the teenager. Indy Boonen is the son of Jacky Boonen, who previously played for Lierse, Beveren and Lokeren in the 1990s and has spent the last seven years at Genk. Besides Januzaj and Merouane Fellaini, who are part of the main team, the Manchester side have other Belgians on their books like Andreas Pereira, Marnick Vermijl (on loan at Sheffield Wednesday) and Charni Ekangamene (on loan at Zulte Waregem).
