Portuguese club FC Porto has now finally approved the sale of their 28 year old Columbian superstar striker Jackson Martinez in the summer, according to what the English Media are reporting. Arsenal, who had previously expressed the need for more striking options with injury problems haunting their squad have made Martinez a primary target, as French manager Arsene Wenger looks to win more trophies in the upcoming seasons.
Wenger would love to add a Champions League title to his name before stepping down as the Arsenal manager and The Gunners, as it seems, are now willing to pay a fee of £30m to land their man. When asked about the current situation and a possible deal, Porto president Pinto da Costa said,
“Jackson almost left last summer but we agreed he’d stay one more year.”
“If somebody pays [his value] he will go.”
