After a rather embarrassing defeat at home against Monaco in the Champions League, Arsene Wenger must rejuvenate his squad for a tough task as they play Everton at the Emirates. Arsenal were undone by a brilliant display by Monaco and will look to help their chances of making it into the top 4.
Arsenal will be taking on an Everton team who looked impressive against the Young Boys in the Europa League and will be hoping Romelu Lukaku continues his goal scoring form, the Belgian has scored 6 goals in his last 3 appearances in all competitions for the Toffees. We look at the side that Arsene Wenger might put out to deal with Everton.
David Ospina
Ospina didn’t cover himself in glory for the first goal Arsenal conceded, but he should still remain in goal for the Gunners.
Calum Chambers
Bellerin must be rested and Chambers should start as right back as Debuchy is still not 100%.
Gabriel Paulista
Per Mertesacker had one of the worst games of his career against Monaco and should be replaced by Paulista who did impress in his debut for Arsenal.
Laurent Koscielny
Arsenal do not really have a choice and must play Koscielny to provide some support and experience at the back.
Nacho Monreal
We can expect Monreal to come back into the starting line-up. He is much more conservative than Gibbs while going forward and that may help Arsenal in the defense.
Francis Coquelin
The only defensive midfielder who seems to be doing his job properly, Coquelin provides bite and some steel in the midfield and should continue his job for the Gunners.
Tomas Rosicky
While Santi Cazorla did a decent job, he would need a rest and bringing on Rosicky in his place is not the worst change Arsenal would make. The Czech player has been in good form and he should get the nod against Everton.
Mesut Ozil
Ozil needs to start pulling his weight or he could face time on the bench at Arsenal. He needs to provide a good display against Everton.
Alexis Sanchez
The star of the Arsenal team, Sanchez was not at his best against Monaco but should be making the squad against Everton.
Theo Walcott
The pace of Theo Walcott should be used to take on the Everton defence, the Englishman played 30 minutes against Monaco and should get a run out.
Olivier Giroud
The striker might have missed a ton of chances against Monaco but he should continue his run in the team as he has scored 8 goals in 12 games.
