The Premier League returns after a weekend off which was filled with FA Cup action, this means only one thing for Fantasy Footballers, who do I bring in and who do I leave out? It always is a tough decision to make, especially when so many players are doing well at this time of the year and while you are tempted to sign the big players, it isn’t the best value for money as some other players can put in a blinder of a performance and score those valuable points.
We will try to help you out in the decision making trying to solve the muddle that is the Fantasy Premier League.
Who to avoid?
Manchester United
Not only for this game week but quite a few to follow, United do not have an easy run in and it starts with Tottenham coming to play at the Theatre of Dreams. United were knocked out of the FA Cup and will not have the services of Angel Di Maria who was sent off. It might not be the best time to keep Manchester United players, especially when Harry Kane and Co. come charging into Manchester. The one player who could still be in your team would be David De Gea but with that defence in front of him, he would surely concede against Spurs.
West Ham United
After a tough game against Chelsea, they continue the London derby theme with a jubilant Arsenal team who will be flying high after the defeat of Manchester United. While West Ham were decent against Chelsea and might consider themselves a little unlucky to lose, the wheels have come off the wagon and playing against Arsenal at this time would not be the best idea for Rob Green and his defenders.
Who to sign up?
Philippe Coutinho
The mercurial Brazilian has been excellent in Liverpool’s run this time around and should be part of the team as they face Swansea away. They would have had a full week of rest and with the extra rest; Coutinho could well be the game changer at Swansea.
Stoke City
The Potters have won back to back games and have kept a couple of clean sheets as well. Mark Hughes might not be doing so well against the big teams but his Stoke side are certainly one of the better mid table teams and they face West Bromwich at the weekend. While the game would be played at the Hawthorns, picking out Asmir Begovic and Victor Moses for the Fantasy team would not be the worst bit of business, especially since Moses seems to be in the form of his life.
Liverpool
Just sign any player up, ok that is a bit of a stretch but with Simon Mignolet in such fine form, Emre Can doing brilliantly and Coutinho being the star of the show, you have a wealth of young, cheap talent to choose from and Liverpool players (especially in defence and midfield) could make the difference for your side as they could pick up a lot of points against Swansea.
