Real Madrid midfielder Sami Khedira has recently hinted a possible return to Germany, after struggling with injuries and failing to impress boss Carlo Ancelotti, post the 2014 World Cup. Premier League giants Arsenal and Manchester United were looking to grab hold of the talented and experienced superstar, but now Schalke are holding talks with the 27 year old, regarding a possible move back to his homeland.
The German has fallen down the pecking order at Los Blancos and has not had much game time, after missing five months of action last term with a knee issue. Khedira’s current contract expires at the end of the season and Schalke are in the forefront to signing the Germany international, according to what the Bundesliga side’s chairman Clemens Tonnies told Bild,
“There have been initial talks. We believe that a fit-again Khedira would help us.”
