It seemed that Garay would be moving away from Zenit St. Petersburg in the January window after impressing so well at the World Cup, which surprisingly ended with him moving to Russia and not to a bigger league in Europe. The Argentine is only 28 years of age and as a centre back, he still has a few good years at the top level.
Garay would not come cheap as he would have just completed one season for his new club but that should not be a problem for Manchester United, who seem to be made of money this season. Garay would be an amazing purchase for the team and would surely shore up the defence.
