Based on reports, Manchester United have now made an agreement to sign Hoffenheim star Roberto Firmino, who is an attacking midfielder. Louis van Gaal’s side have been linked with Firmino in the recent weeks, with United scouts attending the recent Hoffenheim matches.
In a shock turn of events the Daily Star reports that the Red Devils have pushed ahead on a deal and have now agreed to bring in Firmino, in the summer. The Premier League giants have agreed a fee of £18.6m and the switch should go through at the end of the current campaign. The news would hurt the ambitions of domestic rivals Liverpool and Arsenal, who were both quite keen on making a move for Firmino themselves. The Brazilian who joined the Bundesliga side in 2011 has made a total of 133 appearances for them till date and has managed to score a tally of 38 goals. If the move does indeed go through, it would be a huge boost for van Gaal’s future plans at Old Trafford.
