Premier League outfit Arsenal are on the verge of signing of Argentine wonderkid Maxi Romero in the upcoming days as claimed by recent reports.
The 16-year-old currently plays for Velez Sarsfield and is currently considered as one of the biggest talents in South American football. The Metro further claimed that he was recently handed a professional contract by Velez but the Gunners have now made a move to sign him.
The north London side has sent its officials who will arrive in Argentina in the upcoming week to finalize a potential deal which should confirm the move. However, the youngster would have to stay on-loan at Velez for the next two terms before he can move to England. Romero’s agent, Rolando Zarate made a statement to the local media confirming the rumours and Arsene Wenger’s side is believed to be paying a fee of around £2m.
