Manchester United are trying to keep their Brazilian U-20 midfielder Andreas Pereira at Old Trafford, by offering him a new deal. The new contract is being offered to the 19-year-old superstar to avoid any interest from rival clubs from across the continent, who would look to secure the services of this talented youngster.
With just 13 minutes of Premier League football under his belt this season, Pereira was considering his options for the future, with French champions Paris Saint-Germain and Italian champs Juventus monitoring his talks with the Red Devils.
The Daily Mail further claims that United have put forward a revised contract after Pereira refused an initial offer for a new deal. The Premier League side does not wish to see Pereira emulate Paul Pogba and leave, as manager Louis van Gaal knows the importance of youngsters in his squad and looks to win more trophies, in the upcoming years. However, the Belgian-born midfielder would surely need some assurances regarding first-team football prior to signing any new deal with the club, it would seem.
