Chelsea have received a boost in the chase for Argentine international Mauro Icardi at the end of the season, after the superstar himself hinted an exit from Italy if Inter Milan do decide to sell him. Current Inter manager Roberto Mancini has certain plans for changing things around with the Serie A outfit going through a rebuilding phase and offloading superstars being a part of it.
The 22-year-old Icardi could generate up to a fee of £30million and the club could look to cash in on him, due to this. In a recent interview, he told CNN,
“If Inter decides to sell me, I’ll pack my bags and go.”
However, the Argentine superstar did confirm that talks about a possible new deal were in progress though nothing had worked out yet, leaving the west London side in a prime position to sign him. He further added,
“Regarding my pay, my salary, that I don’t ‘earn a lot,’ these are things that are a result of two years ago when I came to Inter.”
“To me, it was a good contract for having arrived at Inter.”
“Now, after two years, I still have this contract that people are talking about, but my agents are speaking to the club, they’re coming to an agreement, they’re seeing how to fix this situation.”
