The transfer saga of World Cup winner Mats Hummels still continues to be a talking point in the media with the Borussia Dortmund man still being heavily linked with a move to Manchester United, at the end of the current season. The 26 year old recently revealed his future will only be more clearer ‘in the coming weeks’. Since the arrival of Dutchman Louis van Gaal last summer, the German center-back has been linked with a move to Old Trafford, but nothing has materialized yet.
He has not been up to the mark with the Bundesliga side, who have struggled right through the campaign and are 10th on the points table, at the moment. There is also a possibility that the side may not qualify for next season’s Champions League. Hummels, himself had hinted the possibility of a summer exit, last month and moving abroad seemed the most likely option for the former Bayern Munich man. Dortmund’s 1-0 defeat to the champions on Saturday, further added fuel to the rumours of an exit and in an interview he told Sky,
“That doesn’t mean that I am leaving, it just means I’m reflecting.”
“There’s no particular tendency one way or the other. It’s just thoughts going through my mind.”
“It will all become clearer in the coming weeks.”
