Premier League leaders Chelsea are set to make a move for Aaron Cresswell from West Ham, according to reports from The Daily Mail. The report claims a bid of £20m should be enough to bring the left-back from Upton Park to Stamford Bridge and Chelsea could be considering a move at the end of the season. The Blues currently have Azpilicueta and Filipe Luis competing for that position, with the latter expected to return to La Liga champions Atletico Madrid, once the summer transfer window opens again.
The Portuguese manager knows that his players need occasional rest and will look to another high-quality defender to his side as a backup. Cresswell joined The Hammers in 2014 and has made 32 appearances for Sam Allardyce’s side scoring twice. He would surely be a good addition for the west London side and the opportunity to play in the Champions League might urge him to make the move soon.
