Jose Mourinho’s Chelsea are now in touch with Serie A outfit Inter Milan with the hopes of a possible move for striker Mauro Icardi, at the end of the season. ESPN had previously reported that the Premier League leaders had made an initial enquiry about the 22-year-old. The Portuguese manager is looking to add more attacking options to his already formidable side, before the start of next season.
The Blues are considering quite a few players to sign, to help bolster their squad and believe that Icardi is one player who would suit their style of play. The report adds that the interest is a strong one as Chelsea are in need of yet another striker and will look to bring the Argentine international to the Stamford Bridge.
Icardi has managed to score 16 Serie A goals in 29 games, yet Inter find themselves at 10th place in the table. The fact that the Italian side might not feature in the Champions League next season could also play a part in his decision to stay or leave, for the upcoming campaign.
