Jose Mourinho’s Chelsea are now preparing to make a sensational £20m bid for former French Under-21 international Giannelli Imbula. The Blues want to add yet another deep lying midfield superstar to play alongside their Serbian superstar Nemanja Matic, who has been sensational this season. The Sun further reports that the Marseille star has all the qualities that the Portuguese manager needs and the Blues will want to beat rivals Arsenal and Serie A champions Juventus in the race for his signature.
The 22-year-old midfielder was being tracked by the west London side previously and could have made the move to Stamford Bridge two years ago for less than £1m. However, the move did not work out as he would not have been guaranteed first team action with the amount stars that the Premier League had in their team. Now, a deal looks more likely to happen and Imbula could be on the verge of an exit from France. He has made 60 appearances and scored thrice during his time at the Ligue 1 side.
