Manchester United have tried their best and failed to convince their number one keeper David de Gea to ignore an offer from La Liga giants Real Madrid. Further, a clue popped out on Monday afternoon which confirmed that a deal was perhaps on the cards, after Iker Casillas’ agent was in talks with Portuguese newspaper Record and confirmed that there has been contact from FC Porto.
Till now it has been strongly suggested that his client wants to move to the club and had asked the former European champions to make a deal happen.
Record quoted Carlo Cutropia as saying, “Iker is very enthusiastic about the possibility of going to Porto. Real Madrid already has the proposal and know the will of Iker. At this point, we are trying to find common ground.”
The Spaniard would surely not want to leave the Bernabeu unless a deal for the United star was nearly done, as speculations in the Spanish and British media had suggested that De Gea wanted Casillas out, before making his return to Spain.
