Chelsea are now looking to complete the £22m signing of Barcelona’s Pedro Rodriguez, now that the European champions have signed Arda Turan. The Blues were engaged in talks with the Turkish international from Atletico Madrid, though the attacking midfielder chose to join the Catalan giants instead.
Due to this, manager Jose Mourinho has been forced to reignite his interest in the Spanish international, according to a report from Fichajes.net. Further English newspaper Telegraph reports that Chelsea have beaten off competition from Arsenal and Liverpool to sign Barcelona star Pedro – and they expect to complete a £22 million deal next week!
The Portuguese manager is a huge fan of the Spaniard, who can play a versatile role up front and is a hardworking winger, with lots of experience to his name as well.
Barcelona were not too keen on letting the 27-year old leave before they had signed a replacement and now that Turan has arrived at Nou Camp, it could mean that Pedro might be playing his football elsewhere next season.
Although Pedro extended his contract recently, it is reported that he is free to leave if he wishes to as a four year contract awaits him at Stamford Bridge.
