Merseyside club Liverpool have now agreed a deal with Premier League outfit Aston Villa over the signing of £32.5m rated star striker Christian Benteke. Sources have confirmed to ESPN FC that a move should be completed soon, with the striker all set to undergo a medical later today and the entire process will be completed within the upcoming 48 hours.
Kop boss Brendan Rodgers knows that his side are in need of more strikers, after a poor performance upfront from the attackers during the previous campaign, which resulted in the Reds failing to secure a Champions League spot.
The 24 year old forward moved to Villa Park in 2012 and has since then made a total of 88 appearances, scoring 42 goals.
Club doctor Andy Massey will fly back to the UK from Australia, where Liverpool are currently playing in a pre-season tour, to conduct the medical. That medical is expected to take place in London, with the deal likely to be confirmed by Tuesday.
Liverpool have been quite busy in the transfer market add plenty of players this summer and will now look to bring Benteke to Anfield, with the hopes of winning some titles soon.
