It seems now that former Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini has also been named a candidate to replace Jose Mourinho at Chelsea, if the Portuguese manager ends up leaving the club. The Blues’ main-man has been under a lot of pressure and there have been recent claims that he is all set to be sacked in the upcoming week as his side lie in 15th place in the Premier League table, 14 points behind leaders Manchester City.
The west London side have always insisted that Mourinho’s job at the club is not under threat, but after the recent 3-1 loss to Liverpool at Stamford Bridge things have totally changed with speculations of a number of successors going around.
Further reports can be found here at Corriere della Sera that Mancini is also being considered by Chelsea as a potential candidate to replace Mourinho.
The Italian coach had previously won the Premier League title, during his tenure at Manchester City and is at present with Serie A outfit Inter Milan.
However, one thing seems certain that Mancini will only join the club at the end of the current campaign and not immediately.
