Top of the League, Chelsea have been trying to add more defensive cover for their center-back pair of John Terry and Gary Cahill, as Jose Mourinho had suggested earlier this season. A number of players were on the radar of the Portuguese manager and have been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge. Despite that, one central defender who is currently being linked with a move away from London is French U-21 international Kurt Zouma. The 20 year old has been recently linked with a move to Italian giants Inter Milan who are plotting a loan bid for him.
Inter manager Roberto Mancini is eager to make new signing this month to his squad with a re-building process going on at the club. The club is struggling at the moment in the Serie A and is currently placed at ninth spot. The manager, who took over the club for a second time in November has already added Arsenal’s Lukas Podolski and Bayern Munich’s Xherdan Shaqiri on loan deals till the end of this season.
Now Mancini has turned his attention towards making a move for the Chelsea defender who is currently a mere spectator at the club. The ex-Manchester City boss wants to sign this young talented defender, who was previously employed by Ligue 1 side Saint-Etienne. The Chelsea boss is likely to reject the move to Italy for the Frenchman unless he can secure an experienced replacement for him as an insurance for his current defenders. The French defender has only made four appearances for the Blues, since joining them in 2014 and has been away on loan, once again at his former club. Whether or not, the youngster makes the move or not, depends on which defensive signings Chelsea can land in January, as the big clubs still try to lure many big names to join them this month.
